Raising a glass to ocean energy

As we prepare to welcome you to The Netherlands for Ocean Energy Europe 2023 next week, I toast amidst the waves, to celebrate the collective spirit of passion, determination, and collaboration that defines our ocean energy community. The community of ocean energy professionals is growing. Much of my professional career I owe to this community. So how do we celebrate this together? Firstly, we extend a warm invitation to everyone to join us at the Welcome Reception of Ocean Energy Europe 2023, hosted by OEE and EWA on the evening of Tuesday, October 24th at Pavlov, The Hague! Sign up here. On Friday, October 27th, EWA invites you to embark on a tour celebrating Dutch innovations in wave energy, tidal energy, and salinity gradient power. Sign up here. At OEE 2023 I look forward to reconnecting with old friends, meeting new people, and drawing inspiration from the many initiatives that make ocean energy the next big thing. I plunge into the waves as well to celebrate some of Bluespring's recent achievements:

• Wrap up the INTERREG ENCORE project, demonstrating several energy solutions offshore (see summary here) • Joining forces in the FLORES project under Erasmus+, contributing to progress in training and education for our sector. • Securing finance for SeaQurrent and supporting their TidalKite demonstrator at Ameland through the NESOI programme.

• Achieving CPD (Continuing Professional Development) certification for the online courses on offshore renewables we developed with DEFTIQ.

Stay tuned for an exciting announcement on 24th October. The offshore journey continues, that’s for sure! Cheers to all the partners, stakeholders, and funders that made it all possible! #OceanEnergyEurope2023 #Bluespring #Milestones #OffshoreRenewableEnergy #ProjectAnnouncement
