Updated: 4 days ago

Dutch Offshore Energy in Action

Join EWA at its side event during ICOE OEE on Monday 5 October at 15:45 for a 120-minute session showcasing Dutch excellence in offshore energy. The event brings together developers, research institutes, and supply chain partners to present innovations, build new collaborations, and conclude with a joint call to action to accelerate deployment.

The Netherlands has world-renowned offshore capabilities, with deep expertise in ocean and water energy. This session brings it together and opens the door to collaboration beyond the Netherlands.Co-hosted by the Dutch Energy from Water Association (EWA) and Bluespring, it convenes Dutch developers, research institutes, and supply chain companies to show what they have built and to strengthen the connections that will carry the work forward.

A Two-Part Programme

The programme will begin with a structured showcase of Dutch capability across tidal, wave, and other marine energy applications. Developers and researchers working at the forefront of the field will share short pitches on the innovations they are bringing from research into real-world impact.

This will be followed by a facilitated matchmaking session, giving tech developers, research institutes, and supply chain actors the chance to connect directly with one another. Participants will be able to move between conversations, meet Dutch organisations, and explore new opportunities for collaboration. The session will close with a joint statement to the Dutch government, setting out what the sector needs to move from demonstration to deployment.

Why It Matters

This side event is more than a showcase. It is a platform to connect expertise, strengthen partnerships, and accelerate the transition from promising technologies to practical solutions. By bringing together key actors from across the offshore energy value chain, the session aims to help turn innovation into lasting impact.

This side event is open to all conference attendees and invited guests, and will be especially relevant for international project developers, port authorities, grid operators, public funders, and policymakers.
